Crisis Recovery Fund

A Road to Recovery in Support of our Mission

A letter from our new President, Maria Devlin:

I write this letter with the utmost appreciation and care for your ongoing support for the improvement of human lives in New Hampshire.

Your community focus and giving spirit makes a real difference in providing much-needed resources. Compassion and goodwill like yours are vital in fulfilling the basic needs of people who are underserved and facing unique challenges in our state.

Starting my new role in the middle of a global pandemic highlights many of the community's pressing issues and the difficulties individuals and families face. Some of the most apparent and visible are those of people experiencing homelessness in the Granite State. Homelessness is not a new challenge in our state. However, the pandemic has drastically intensified the circumstances and strained resources for homelessness services. It is an issue that will need the strength and support of our community through this trying time and beyond.

It is indeed strange that my first letter to you as part of Families in Transition-New Horizons comes in the form of a request for financial support amid this rare and unparalleled time. Yet, it is crucial to building a foundation for future success in the mission to provide hunger relief, emergency shelter, safe and affordable housing, and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

COVID-19 has changed the nature of homelessness services permanently. This pandemic has intensified an already present disparity. Continuing to adapt programs to meet this challenge head-on requires additional resources for those who are at a disadvantage.

We have not seen the complete and long-term impact on the delivery of programs, and, most importantly, those we aim to serve, but we're starting the long road to recovery. It's only the beginning of the process, and we need your help.

Please consider helping to meet the demands on the road to recovery ahead by making a gift...

$250: Regular case management and supportive services for program participants.

$100: A night of shelter for one individual or family experiencing homelessness.

Sincerely,
Maria Devlin
