Email from GOTV PAC Trump’s ex-lawyer on how Trump will attack democracy this November. Do you remember Ty Cobb? He worked as an attorney in Donald Trump’s White House during Trump’s first term. He knows the people in Trump’s inner circle, how Trump operates, and this weekend he issued one of the most terrifying warnings we have heard about the midterm elections. Asked whether American democracy could survive Donald Trump through 2028, Cobb responded: “I’m not sure we will survive it in 2026.” And hours ago, the Senate gave all of us another reason to worry. By a razor-thin 50–49 vote, Republicans confirmed Todd Blanche as Attorney General of the United States. Blanche previously served as Trump’s personal attorney, and earlier this year he openly questioned why anyone would object to sending ICE officers to polling places. RUSH $25 TO HELP GOTV PAC FIGHT BACK Consider where we are now with less than 90 days until Election Day: Donald Trump has an Attorney General who once represented him personally. That Attorney General has entertained putting ICE officers at polling places. Mike Johnson controls the House. And Cobb is now publicly raising the possibility that even if Americans vote Republicans out of power, Trump and his allies could create another constitutional crisis rather than simply accept the result. When asked whether Blanche would stand up to Trump if the president demanded bogus evidence of voter fraud after losing politically, Cobb’s answer was two words: “We’re screwed.” We refuse to accept that. Get Out The Vote PAC is preparing for an election where simply persuading voters is not enough. We have to reach people before intimidation and disinformation can keep them home, help them understand how and when to cast their ballots, and turn out the voters who can defeat MAGA Republicans in the races that will decide control of Congress. Because Republicans do not need to cancel an election to damage democracy. They can make people afraid to vote. They can sow chaos around polling places. They can flood the country with false accusations of fraud. And if the result goes against them, they can use that chaos to attack the legitimacy of the result afterward. That is the nightmare Ty Cobb is warning about. We have less than three months to prepare for it. Please rush $25, $50, or whatever you can afford today to help Get Out The Vote PAC reach voters in the races that will decide Congress, fight voter intimidation and misinformation, and build the turnout operation we will need to protect the results this November.
