Friend,


She was just a child.


And the person who should have protected her was the one who first
trafficked her.


Her own mother.


What began there didn’t stop. She was sold again and again.


Passed between people who saw her as an object.


Not a child.
Not a life.
Not someone worth protecting.

As the years went on, the trauma only grew deeper.


To survive, she turned to addiction - the only way to numb the
pain. The only way to keep going.


She even had children with one of the men who trafficked her.


Another chain and reason it felt impossible to escape.


For years, she lived in fear. No way out. Until one day, she reached
a breaking point.


With nothing but courage and fear in her heart, she ran, fleeing to a
women’s shelter.


No plan. No safety.
JUST HOPE THAT MAYBE SOMEONE WOULD HELP HER.


AND THAT IS WHEN EVERYTHING BEGAN TO CHANGE.


BECAUSE SOMEONE DID SHOW UP.


A partner of the SOUND OF FREEDOM FOUNDATION called House Parent
Project. They didn’t turn her away. They didn’t question her
worth.


THEY SAT WITH HER, THEY LISTENED AND BELIEVED HER. AND IN THAT MOMENT,
LIGHT ENTERED HER STORY.

They helped her take the next step.Then the next. And the next.


They safely relocated her far from the people who had controlled her
life.


FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS, SHE COULD BREATHE. She could begin to
heal. But they didn’t stop there.


They are still walking with her today, because her fight is not
over.


Her children are still connected to the man who trafficked
her. And now, Sara is fighting to
bring them to safety. Fighting to break the cycle for good.


And she is not alone.
