Hello,

You won’t want to miss our Tuesday, September 1 YES ON 15 kickoff event at
7pm! It will be online (sign up here!
<[link removed]>)
and feature guest speakers Karen McBride (President of the Santa Barbara
Teachers Association) and Jonathan Abboud (SBCC Board Member and GM of the
IV Community Services District), along with workers in our community sick
and tired of decades of austerity and ready to tax the rich to fund schools
and services! We’ll also have some discussion with each other about how
this proposition would affect us, and share ways to get involved. We’ll
hope to see you there! To sign up for the event, please visit

If you can’t make it to the kickoff on Tuesday, don’t worry, there are
plenty of ways to get involved. First up, we’ll be partnering with DSA
chapters up and down California for a statewide phonebank on Wednesday,
September 2! You can register for the phonebank here: dsasb.org/phonebank

We’ll also be taking part in DSA CA’s ‘Labor Day of Action’ with a car
caravan through Santa Barbara. We will meet at the Amtrak train station in
the Funk Zone, next to the Reagan Ranch Center [image: 😉] at noon on
Monday, September 7 and drive through Santa Barbara spreading the word
about the joys of taxing the rich to fund our schools and services. We’ll
see you there! For more information, please visit dsasb.org/laborday

Solidarity,

DSA Santa Barbara
