What's going on? August is normally a slow month in politics but once again we've seen that 2020 is anything but normal. Maybe you watched the Democratic National Convention or avoided Twitter hashtags related to the RNC, but August has had a lot more going on:

The news and what to do about it:

First, the inspirational stuff:

Action Fund Executive Director Kelley Robinson and actress and activist Rosario Dawson hosted an incredible virtual event, and it was, well, awesome. Want a quick recap? Here are some of our favorite parts:

1. Planned Parenthood Action Fund-endorsed candidates from across the country shared how care from Planned Parenthood helped them build the life they wanted.

2. Alexis McGill Johnson, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Emmy Ruiz, and Angela Rye talked about the intersection of the movement for Black lives and reproductive freedom, the stakes of the election, and what's giving them hope.

3. STUNNING musical performances from The Chicks and SAYGRACE.

4. This reminder of why we do the work from Rep. Ayanna Pressley: "I have to center everything on policy because policy is my love language. Why is that? Because hurt and harm is codified in law-making."
