I could hear the frustration in his voice about conditions in the county. He kept talking about being afraid of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBA). I asked him if it was really that bad. He paused for a long moment and said, “Randolph County has been on a precipice for a long time, and if they pass that bill, we’re going over the edge, and nothing is going to stop it.” The OBBA passed on July 4, 2025. Mike Rogers, Randolph County’s Congressman, voted for it twice. When I heard the OBBA had passed, I think that was when I knew something had to be done. It’s been a year. It’s time to take stock of the OBBA and its impact on working-class Americans over the past 12 months. We had a strong turnout and some great questions from the audience, covering topics ranging from the Israel/Palestine conflict to policing in America to the future of the Anniston Army Depot. Videos from the Q&A session will be posted online soon. We are planning three additional town halls in the coming weeks. We’ll share the details as we nail them down. We will visit every county in the district before November 3rd and give you something you haven’t had in a long time: a chance to meet face-to-face with someone who wants to represent you in Congress. We are also spending more time on fundraising and working to secure key endorsements to raise the campaign's profile. We’ve been working with our local county leads to begin our phone banking efforts. So things won’t be slowing down over the next 3 ½ months. Stay with us. It’s getting to be fun.
