Bill Foster here, the Congressman from Illinois’s 11th District, and the only Ph.D. scientist serving in Congress. Today I am reaching out to invite you to an upcoming campaign fundraiser for my friend and fellow scientist Nancy Goroff, who is running in a Red to Blue race in NY-01.
As a Ph.D. chemist and college educator, Nancy will bring unique skills and knowledge to Congress, and will be able to serve as a resource for our colleagues in the House on issues from climate change to health care. I've been behind Nancy from the start of her campaign -- and with your help, I'm excited to elect a second Ph.D. scientist to Congress so I can cut my workload in half!

Nancy chaired the Chemistry Department and taught as a professor at Stony Brook University, where she developed new materials for solar energy and helped so many students prepare for a bright future in science. She's committed to doing the research, leading with facts, and finding solutions based on the evidence.
Right now, she's running for Congress against Lee Zeldin, one of the most vulnerable and extreme Republicans in Congress. When she wins, she'll become the first woman with a Ph.D. in science ever to serve in Congress.
