As a Ph.D. chemist and college educator, Nancy will bring unique skills and knowledge to Congress, and will be able to serve as a resource for our colleagues in the House on issues from climate change to health care. Nancy chaired the Chemistry Department and taught as a professor at Stony Brook University, where she developed new materials for solar energy and helped so many students prepare for a bright future in science. She's committed to doing the research, leading with facts, and finding solutions based on the evidence.
Right now, she's running for Congress against Lee Zeldin, one of the most vulnerable and extreme Republicans in Congress. When she wins, she'll become the first woman with a Ph.D. in science ever to serve in Congress.
