Only 39 days left 🥵🥵🥵 If you haven’t plugged in yet to Protect Education [[link removed]] and rein in off-the-rails $1 billion ESA vouchers, now is the time – and if you’ve already been collecting, we hope you can double down on your efforts! We have a little over 5 weeks to get Protect Education on the ballot, but we need over 400,000 signatures in order to make it through the vicious legal challenges we know are coming.
We need FAR MORE signatures to build the cushion we need – and we need everyone who cares about the future of public education in Arizona to do their part . Whether it’s collecting 5, 15, or 100 signatures, bringing your friends and family to a signing location, setting up at your local library/splashpad/pool/rec center, or sharing on social media — every bit helps!!

Legislative Update
Not cooked yet: Senate President Warren Petersen (R-14) told media this week [[link removed]] that Gov. Hobbs and Republican legislative leaders are “meeting almost every single day” to hash out the particulars of a budget deal. He said an agreement (which is negotiated behind closed doors by legislative leaders only, then shown to the public and sent to rank-and-file lawmakers for a vote) is “very close” and “I feel like we’re probably 97% of the way there.” He also indicated we could see movement on budget bills in “early June.”
Still officially on vacation: The Senate has been meeting on Mondays only; the House adjourned on May 11 and isn’t expected back until June 1. Lawmakers must pass a budget by midnight on June 30 to avoid a state government shutdown.
