Labor Day is more than just a holiday!

I love what Labor Day stands for. It's a whole day dedicated to the
achievements of working Americans. It's a national tribute to ordinary
people who have made daily contributions to the strength, prosperity,
and well-being of our nation.

It's also a time to reflect on the nature of work and what it means
for us. There is dignity in being a productive member of society,
gainfully employed and contributing to the greater good.  Our
Catholic Charities agencies play a crucial role in helping people with
the essentials, but more importantly, they also provide families with
the resources they need to get back on their feet.

The generous support of people like you helps to weave a safety-net
that not only feeds people today but also teaches them to provide for
themselves tomorrow. Together, we work to help alleviate poverty
and prevent people from becoming poor.

Because of the support of people like you, families have a place
to turn to - a place where they can regain the dignity of being able
to provide for their families.

Happy Labor Day to you and your loved

Providing a hand up with job training

All across the country, our Catholic Charities agencies operate
all types of job-training programs that include an enterprise that
helps funds some or all of the program's
operations.  Catholic Charities USA helps our member
agencies develop the capacity to holistically address the effects of
poverty. We provide technical assistance so that agencies can
establish training programs that are self-sustaining because
they operate as profitable foodservice businesses.
