I love what Labor Day stands for. It's a whole day dedicated to the achievements of working Americans. It's a national tribute to ordinary people who have made daily contributions to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our nation.
It's also a time to reflect on the nature of work and what it means for us. There is dignity in being a productive member of society, gainfully employed and contributing to the greater good. Our Catholic Charities agencies play a crucial role in helping people with the essentials, but more importantly, they also provide families with the resources they need to get back on their feet.
