Hey team,

The question any person must ask themselves before stepping into the public eye to run for office is: why am I running? If you can’t answer that you’re doomed from the start.

For me, the answer started with the work I’ve done as a human rights lawyer serving domestic and sexual violence survivors and children in vulnerable communities. As we began to hit the trail my answer began to evolve. I realized first-hand that Virginia’s First District needed a leader who would bring compassion to the office, and someone who would not just advocate for our community but turn that advocacy into action.
br> My reasons for running expand with every person I meet, which is why I’d love to meet you next weekend!
