My name is Shikha Hamilton and I have been with Brady for more than 20 years. I started as a grassroots volunteer. And I am writing to you now because we found a way to defeat the NRA’s stranglehold on gun laws. The solution is simple: grassroots volunteers. You.

In order to elect gun safety champions, we need to ensure everyone can safely vote. And right now, that’s far from the case. That’s where YOU come in.

I have spent these past few months during the pandemic working to build a new grassroots program at Brady. Our program, called Democracy Organizers , is a part of our new #VotingAccessSavesLives campaign. We’re looking for committed volunteers who can dedicate 5-7 hours a week to join us in fighting for voting reforms ahead of Election Day and state primaries. As a Democracy Organizer, you’ll receive hands-on training and assistance on how to activate your own team of volunteers. Your mission: to mobilize for vital voting reforms in your state. We are contacting governors, state legislators, election officials, and more to advocate for common-sense solutions like expanded mail-in voting, expanded absentee and early voting, and the provision of PPE for poll workers.

John , I know 5-7 hours a week is a big time commitment. But we are up against a tight timeline (just 90 days until Election Day) and a national leader (Donald Trump) who will do anything to suppress our votes.

If you join our team as a Democracy Organizer, you will help save our elections. You will help ensure we elect gun safety champions to statehouses, Congress, and the White House. It’s how we can pass laws that will save lives.
