Dear Friend,

Deadly violence in schools is on the rise, and quite often, such violent
behavior begins with cruelty to animals. The link between animal abuse and
cruelty to other humans is well documented among experts. PETA is taking action
to prevent violence in schools, and you can help.

We've formed a groundbreaking new partnership with a school district in the Deep
South to launch a first-of-its-kind program—PETA's Compassionate Library
Project. We must raise $15,000 by August 31 to provide 50 classrooms with books
featuring humane education messages, and we need you to donate in order to make
an immediate impact in these schools.

Kids learn many of their core values in the classroom. The violence epidemic
affects everyone—humans and animals alike—and giving before the deadline will
help us provide educators with the tools that they need to spread the message of
kindness and compassion when it's needed most: during children's early
developmental stages.

Your gift before our August 31 deadline will help us get books into classrooms
for the beginning of the fall semester.

Thank you for taking a stand against violence—your support will help hundreds of
children year after year grow into compassionate individuals.

Kind regards,

Ingrid E. Newkirk
President
