Lobbying: 'Happy birthday! I talked to my rep'
CCL volunteer John McGarry, a congressional liaison in Michigan, had a
thinking-outside-the-box request for his birthday: He asked his family
in Pennsylvania to meet with their Republican Congressman, Scott Perry,
and ask him to support the Energy Innovation Act. John's brother Dan,
who had no prior experience with CCL, got a face-to-face meeting with
Perry. He contacted CCL Regional Coordinator Jon Clark for advice, and
the two of them met with Perry. " Dan did a wonderful job and the
meeting went well," reports Jon. So, happy birthday, John! And, yes,
that's Rep. Perry with the big smile in the photo above with Dan McGarry
(middle) and Jon Clark.
