Welcome to the November 2025 edition of NGP VAN News for Organizing customers! Read on to learn about new features, updates, and trainings.
WHAT'S NEW
Self-service score slots
We’ve introduced a new score slot self-service experience that lets authorized national administrators manage score slots directly within the platform —no support ticket required. This update gives teams faster access to new targeting data in the field and reduces delays from manual setup.
As part of this release, we’ve also upgraded the scores data model to a more scalable format. All existing scores have been migrated automatically.
If you have any Saved Searches that reference score slots created before January 12, please re-run and re-save those searches to ensure they use the latest scores data. Saved Searches that aren’t updated may display outdated results. We’ve started displaying in-app reminders to users who have affected Saved Searches.
New navigation and homepage beta experience
Don’t forget to check out our new NGP VAN navigation and homepage beta experience!
Committee admins got a preview starting September 17 , and all users got a preview starting November 12 (November 13 for VoteBuilder).
You can test out — and provide feedback on — our improved navigation and homepage design with easier-to-use menu and customization options.
This is an early look at how we’re directionally thinking about future navigation – and your feedback will directly shape where we go from here. It’s a work in progress, and we’re listening closely – every comment will be reviewed by our team.

Accept contributions with NGP VAN Payments
Need a way to collect contributions to support your organizing work? NGP VAN Payments is a secure, fully integrated donation platform powered by Stripe — and it’s available to all NGP VAN clients.
If you already use NGP, you can sign up right from your account by navigating to Payment Gateways. If you don’t have NGP yet, you can sign up for a free account here [[link removed]] to start accepting contributions.
With simple 3.25% pricing, fast setup, and built-in donation forms optimized to help you raise more, NGP VAN Payments is a great option for organizing teams looking to bring in funds — without extra overhead.

Favorite page section option on contact record
On February 4 (February 5 for VoteBuilder), you'll be able to more easily find what you're looking for on a contact record; you can designate frequently-used page sections as Favorites and place them in any order.
This aligns the contact record page with the same UI experience as Create a List. Unfavorited page sections will be listed in alphabetical order.
If you already have an existing custom section order, we’ll automatically migrate your first five sections into Favorites to give you a head start.

COMING SOON: The ability to close events in advance
Soon, organizers will be able to close shifts in advance on Mobilize, giving you more control and predictability when planning events.
With this new feature, you can set a cut-off time for each shift. After the cut-off:
* The shift stops accepting new signups
* It’s hidden from event feeds
Closing shifts ahead of time helps you confirm your volunteer list early , so you can:
* Allocate resources more efficiently
* Communicate with attendees in advance
* Avoid last-minute signups or no-shows
This feature is optional, customizable per shift, and very easy to set up! It will be available in Beta (by request only).

COMING SOON: Guided search experiment on mob ilize.us
Soon, we’ll be testing a small update to the search bar on mobilize.us [[link removed]] to help more supporters find events faster.
What’s changing:
* A more visible, easier-to-spot search bar on the homepage
* Helpful placeholder text
* Suggested popular queries to guide new visitors
This update is designed to make it easier for supporters to discover and sign up to your events!
