In case you missed it, our newly elected governor, Abigail Spanberger, said this about our amendment to enshrine abortion rights during her joint address to the General Assembly:
“Virginia will not fall victim to abortion bans that put politicians between patients and doctors – or cost women their lives. We trust Virginia women. We trust Virginia families. And we’re not done yet.
The Reproductive Freedom Amendment has passed the General Assembly. Now it’s headed to the ballot – and voters will have the final say.
This is how we honor Roe: by locking reproductive freedom into Virginia’s Constitution, once and for all.”

As a reminder, if we hadn’t worked together to sweep the elections for pro-abortion rights candidates in 2023 and again in 2025, we wouldn’t be in this position. That is made evident by the fact that every single Republican voted NO on the passage.
