** Wiley’s Richmond Report
------------------------------------------------------------

** Week 1
------------------------------------------------------------

The first day of session is typically reserved for pleasantries and procedures. This year was quite an exception. On the first day, the super majority moved four Constitutional Amendments through the House, and they will now be put up for referendum in the spring. These amendments are:
* HJ1 - Enshrining Abortion ([link removed])
* HJ2 - Qualifications of Voters ([link removed])
* HJ3 - Same Sex Marriage ([link removed])
* HJ4 - Redistricting ([link removed])

We were sent to Richmond with a clear message. Affordability. From the grocery store to utility bills, Virginians want relief. As the upcoming weeks unfold, my colleagues and I are going to work to bring your priorities into focus.

I am grateful to continue serving on the Appropriations, Transportation, and General Laws committees. These roles align with both my experience and our district’s needs, from addressing I-81, our main transportation artery, to funding critical infrastructure and delivering a balanced budget.

As always, if I or my staff may be of assistance to you in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you to Scott Stroh and Rachel Sigler from the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley for visiting our office in Richmond.
