Ready to Ride? Read this First.

With recent snowfall bolstering the existing snowpack across much of the state, snowmobile trails are continuing to open and conditions are improving. As the season gets underway, now is a great time to brush up on rider safety, trail etiquette, and responsible riding practices.

Before you hit the trails, please remember to:

* *Register Your Sled*
Make sure your snowmobile registration is current. Renewing [ [link removed] ] is fast and easy online, and registration fees go directly back into supporting and maintaining Maine’s snowmobile trail system.

* *Know Before You Go
*Check with your local snowmobile club [ [link removed] ] for current trail conditions. Riding too early can damage trails and jeopardize landowner access.

* *Put Safety First
*Stay on marked trails, ride within your limits, and *never drink and ride*.

For more information on snowmobile safety, registration, laws and regulations, or land access, visit our website [ [link removed] ].

Enjoy the season—and we'll see you on the trails!
