My family didn’t have much growing up. My dad immigrated to the U.S. in 1950, worked in the fields of the Rio Grande Valley, served two tours in Vietnam, and earned his U.S. citizenship.

He proudly achieved the American dream because he believed that through hard work, anything was possible.

So when I watch Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress attack families like mine, and rip apart the American Dream, it’s not just about politics— it’s deeply personal. [[link removed]]

As we speak, Republicans in Congress, fueled by Trump and their extreme leaders, are actively pushing to destroy the American dream and make life harder for American families.

November’s election is critical — defending my seat and helping Democrats take back the House is the best way to put a check on the far-right’s power, and bring back the American dream.
