First: Ohio passed one of the country’s strictest voter ID laws back in 2023.

Now: Gov. DeWine signed yet another voter suppression bill into law right before the holidays — this time requiring citizenship “checks” of registered voters that would inaccurately flag eligible US citizen voters and purge them from the rolls.
