[[link removed]] I was honored to take part in Christmas in the Wards this weekend, where the true spirit of the season shines brightest. What began nearly 30 years ago as a small grassroots effort has grown into one of Chicago’s most meaningful celebrations of generosity and community.
I was grateful for the opportunity to present two students with new laptops; tools that will support their learning, open new doors and help them succeed in the years ahead.
Christmas in the Wards reminds us that every child deserves joy, opportunity and the chance to reach their full potential.

Christmas in the Ward's Mission is All Year Long
At Christmas in the Wards, our mission goes far beyond December.
This year, we showed up all year long — bringing joy, support, and hope to families across the Chicagoland area.
* Easter celebrations 🐣
* Back-to-School readiness 🎒
* Thanksgiving meals 🦃
* Shopping with the Mayor 🛍️
We’ve been honored to put smiles on the faces of children and provide relief to parents when it mattered most.
Because of the incredible support from our corporate and community sponsors, we’ve been able to serve hundreds of families, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and supported — not just during the holidays, but year-round.
This is what community looks like.
This is what impact feels like.
