Dear John,
Picture this: In Ghana, communities are restoring degraded land through agroforestry, rebuilding both ecosystems and livelihoods. In Kenya, the deployment of 1,000 solar-powered cold storage units will reduce methane emissions and raise farmer incomes by reducing the rate of crops decomposing after harvest. At COP30, WRI helped launch breakthrough initiatives linking climate action to job creation, proving that protecting our planet and supporting people go hand in hand.
*Those WRI initiatives are what progress for people, nature and climate looks like. And right now, we have a real chance to accelerate it.*

The momentum is real. Since 2015, solar and wind's share of electricity generation has more than tripled. Investments in clean energy now surpass fossil fuel funding for the second year running. Several countries are accelerating national climate action at unprecedented speed. A decade ago, progress like this seemed unimaginable.
*But here's the hard truth: while we're moving in the right direction, we're not moving fast enough.* To protect the world's most vulnerable communities and our shared future, we need to turn isolated wins like the ones above into system-wide transformation.
*That's where you come in, John.* Your end-of-year gift to WRI directly funds the research, partnerships and on-the-ground projects that turn data into action and commitments into real change. *When you support WRI, you're helping us:*
* *Push governments to accelerate climate action* with evidence they can't ignore and guidance that fuels real progress.
* *Support frontline communities* in building resilience to climate threats and restoring critical landscapes.
* *Expand initiatives* like CHAMP, which WRI is a founding partner of, that give cities and states in over 77 countries the tools and knowledge to shape climate solutions.
*Will you make your tax-deductible donation before the new year is here?* ( [link removed] ) Your contribution fuels the critical research that empowers leaders to act with confidence, helps on-the-ground restoration efforts and guides governments in implementing effective sustainability solutions.

We're heading into 2026 with ambitious plans to keep driving progress for people and our planet. With your support, we'll continue providing the evidence and tools that help leaders act while protecting and uplifting the people who need us most.
Thank you for standing with us,
Liz
