Member Alert: Beware of Fake GOA Text Messages
Dear GOA Member,
We have been made aware of fraudulent text messages circulating that falsely
use theGun Owners of America (GOA) name, logo, and likeness.
These messages are NOT from GOA.
What’s happening
Scammers are sending text messages that appear to come from GOA and may:
* Ask you to click a link
* Request personal or financial information
* Claim urgent action is required
* Offer fake prizes, donations, or political alerts
These messages are designed to deceive and steal information.
What GOA will never do
GOA will never:
* Ask for passwords, PINs, or verification codes
* Request sensitive personal or banking information via text
* Pressure you with threats or urgent demands
What you should do
If you receive one of these messages:
* Do not click any links
* Do not reply
* Delete the message immediately
* If possible, report it as spam through your mobile carrier
