All because he didn’t like hearing a simple truth: When you serve our country, your oath to the Constitution comes above all.

That upset the President. He called for violence against me and several of my colleagues who also served our country. He called for me to be arrested, jailed, hanged, and sentenced to death. He called for my prosecution.

I first swore an oath to the Constitution when I headed off to the Naval Academy at 17 years old. I swore that same oath again when I was elected to represent Western Pennsylvania in Congress.

That oath to the Constitution is sacred, and it does not expire.
