 John, it's been one month since Donald Trump called for my death and arrest. All because he didn’t like hearing a simple truth: When you serve our country, your oath to the Constitution comes above all. That upset the President. He called for violence against me and several of my colleagues who also served our country. He called for me to be arrested, jailed, hanged, and sentenced to death. He called for my prosecution. It’s weak and unhinged, John. It’s been a month since then, and I want to make sure the President hears me loud and clear: I will not be intimidated by his weak attacks. I will always uphold my sacred oath. I will never stop fighting for Western PA.
I first swore an oath to the Constitution when I headed off to the Naval Academy at 17 years old. I swore that same oath again when I was elected to represent Western Pennsylvania in Congress. That oath to the Constitution is sacred, and it does not expire. I sure as hell won’t let Donald Trump—the guy who tried to overthrow our government on January 6, 2021—try to deter me from doing my job or try to tell me how to serve our country.
