For more than two years, rural Iowa has been dealing with the consequences of no Farm Bill. Everything from farm subsidies to crop insurance and rural development have been halted. The Farm Bill isn’t just about farmers. Tom Harkin said it best: “The Farm Bill is an economic stimulus package for rural America.”
To make matters even worse, Trump’s tariffs from this year have burdened our farm economy like never before.
But what are our members of Congress doing exactly?
Randy Feenstra, Ashley Hinson, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and Zach Nunn are:
* Bailing out Argentina
* Stripping Iowans of their healthcare
* Taking vacations during government shutdowns
Rural Iowans and farmers shouldn’t have to pay the price for our elected officials’ failed leadership. Ignoring our agricultural economy is what has Iowa ranked at the bottom nationwide — it’s time for change.
