Celebrating the Difference You Made This Year!

As the year comes to a close, we want to say THANK YOU !
Your voice resonated on Capitol Hill and beyond in 2025. Every win we celebrated, every step forward, and all the increased awareness around aging issues happened because you showed up and took action.
Thanks to your advocacy, we are marking significant achievements such as:
* Bipartisan bills introduced in both chambers of Congress to secure funding for low-income benefits outreach and enrollment under the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) [[link removed]] .
* Bipartisan support for reauthorization of the Older Americans Act [[link removed]] , which funds critical services like meals and transportation to help older adults stay in their communities.
* The release of funding for the Senior Community Service Employment Program [[link removed]] , so older workers can once again get trained for jobs.
* Release of the National Falls Prevention Action Plan [[link removed]] at a bipartisan Hill briefing, providing a blueprint for how we can reduce costly falls among older adults and reflected in seven introduced bills so far.
* Expanding access to obesity treatments, including coverage of anti-obesity medications under Medicare.
The new year will bring more opportunities—and potential challenges.

Looking Ahead: The Older Americans Act and MIPPA in 2026
[[link removed]] Uncertainties remain as we end 2025 and head into 2026. Congress has yet to address expiring premium subsidies under the Affordable Care Act, which are expected to impact half of older adults ages 50–64 who buy plans through the health care marketplace.
These two laws are our top priorities right now.
The Older Americans Act (OAA) needs funding and reauthorization to continue serving the millions of people who depend on it for home-delivered meals, senior center programs, caregiver support, transportation to doctor’s visits, and job skills training. All of these services are at risk of ending when funding runs out on Jan. 30.
If funding for the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) expires on Jan. 30, people who rely on help affording Medicare could be affected. MIPPA funds benefits counselors across the country who connect people with programs like Extra Help or the Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs) that help older adults afford Medicare. These financial supports contribute to the health and well-being of older adults nationwide.
Your Stories Mattered
