The Older Americans Act (OAA) needs funding and reauthorization to continue serving the millions of people who depend on it for home-delivered meals, senior center programs, caregiver support, transportation to doctor’s visits, and job skills training. All of these services are at risk of ending when funding runs out on Jan. 30. Â
If funding for the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) expires on Jan. 30, people who rely on help affording Medicare could be affected. MIPPA funds benefits counselors across the country who connect people with programs like Extra Help or the Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs) that help older adults afford Medicare. These financial supports contribute to the health and well-being of older adults nationwide.
