The Maine Department of Labor (MDOL), in partnership with the Manufacturers Association of Maine, Maine Defense Industry Alliance, Maine MEP, and other key higher education and state agencies, was recently provisionally _selected by US DOL [ [link removed] ]_ to support defense and advanced manufacturing employers’ investment in workforce training.
If awarded in early 2026, the grant will reimburse employers for eligible training for new and incumbent workers in the defense and advanced manufacturing sectors, with a focus on skilled trades and expanded digital & AI competencies.
