All Eyes on Houston: Alejandra Salinas Heads to December 13 Runoff
Alejandra Salinas is heading into a crucial runoff for Houston City Council At-Large Position 4 with Election Day set for December 13!
After finishing just over her opponent in the November general election by a slim margin [[link removed]] , Salinas has been hitting the doors and mobilizing voters in the final stretch of the campaign to boost turnout [[link removed]] .
Her momentum got a major boost with a key endorsement from The Houston Chronicle [[link removed]] , which highlighted her deep policy knowledge and willingness to stand up for Houston families on issues from public safety to immigrant rights.
Salinas — a nationally recognized attorney, LGBTQ + leader, and community advocate [[link removed]] — is making her case directly to neighborhoods across the city as she vies to bring inclusive, equitable leadership to City Council [[link removed]] .
Building a Pro-Equality Majority in the U.S. House

It’s been a major week for several Victory Fund–endorsed congressional candidates.
Mike Simmons , running to make history in Illinois’ 9th District, just earned a powerful endorsement from Equality PAC [[link removed]] , adding national weight to his growing coalition.
In Minnesota, Secretary Pete Buttigieg [[link removed]] threw his support behind Angie Craig [[link removed]] as she campaigns to become the first out LGBTQ+ U.S. Senator from the state [[link removed]] !
And in Georgia’s 13th District, Everton Blair is surging — releasing a sharp new campaign video [[link removed]] and taking the debate stage to lay out a clear, compelling vision for change [[link removed]] .

A History-Making Win in Deep-Red Ohio
In one of the most inspiring victories of the year, Gie May, an out nonbinary candidate, won a seat in their ruby-red Ohio town — by just 13 votes [[link removed]] .
What started as an effort to simply show Wadsworth that there were candidates beyond the existing slate became something far more powerful. Voters responded to May’s authenticity, message, and commitment to their community, proving that even in deeply conservative areas, inclusive leadership can break through.
As May told The Buckeye Flame , they didn’t believe it at first either [[link removed]] — but their win is a reminder that every vote counts, and that visibility and courage can shift what’s possible.
