Neghat
A message from Council Leader, Councillor Neghat Khan

As we come up to Christmas, I want to say a big thank you to everyone across Nottingham who helps keep our city clean, safe and welcoming. Our recent *Love Your City Centre Day of Action* was a great example of teams and partners working together to make a real difference.

We’re also sharing updates on *festive waste and recycling collections*, which will run earlier than usual, so please remember to check your revised dates below.

I'm pleased to see Nottingham recognised as one of the *top-performing authorities for walking and cycling*, showing our continued commitment to a greener, more accessible city.

I’ve also really enjoyed getting out into the community ahead of Christmas, including attending my local *Christmas lights switch-on and fair*. A huge thank you to the volunteers and organisers who helped make it such a magical event - and to Santa too!

Finally, I’d like to wish a very *Happy Hanukkah* to those celebrating, and warm festive wishes to everyone across Nottingham.

Trespassing at former Debenhams store now a criminal offence after court order secured

Trespassing at the former Debenhams building on Long Row is now a criminal offence after Nottingham City Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team, working closely with Nottinghamshire Police, secured a Closure Order in response to repeated break-ins and dangerous access to the roof. The order, granted for an initial three months, aims to stop ongoing anti-social behaviour and protect public safety. This is a strong example of how partnership working is helping keep our city centre safe.
