Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis have spent months pressuring Florida Republicans to redraw our congressional district lines, years before the next census, in a desperate attempt to rig the rules and cling to power ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Now, it’s official. On December 4th , they’ll hold their first meeting to start the process.
Republicans know they’re on track to lose the House. They’ve seen the polls, they’ve seen the energy, and they know voters are ready to hold them accountable, so they’re rigging the rules and robbing Floridians of representation before they get a say.
This mid-decade power grab is unnecessary, expensive, and anti-democratic. Instead of helping working families afford housing or lowering insurance costs, they’re wasting taxpayer dollars to protect themselves.
Florida Democrats are building our defense fund right now to protect fair districts, defend free and fair elections, and fight for the freedom of every Floridian to choose their leaders.
