Comrades:

As we discussed in tonight's chapter meeting, the Massachusetts Senate
recently passed a bill to "reform" the police, and the bill will now move
to the House. Senate Bill 2800
<[link removed]> is
lightweight at best, and fails to include some crucial points; for
instance, it does not block police from using tear gas, which contravenes
international law. Our comrades in Merrimack Valley DSA have drafted a
statement opposing the bill (attached here). We are voting on whether we
add our chapter to the statement. If you oppose adding our chapter to the
statement, please respond to this email with the word "oppose" in the text.
Voting will end at 9p on Saturday (7/19).

And for your calendars! The MA Ecosocialist Working Group is meeting on
Sunday at 3p (zoom link here <[link removed]>). Join
up to discuss exciting work, including the campaign for a Green Stimulus in
MA.

In solidarity,
Sid
