Dear friend of IDP,

At IDP, we're passionate about ensuring that community members know their rights - and also that they, in turn, can ensure that their family, friends, neighbors, and local institutions are prepared too. This is why, in addition to developing Multilingual Know Your Rights (KYR) materials ([link removed]) , IDP hosted a Train the Trainer ([link removed]) last year before the inauguration–to prepare advocates, organizers and allies to give Know Your Rights presentations to clients and community members.

We have partnered with legal advocates and community-based organizations since our founding almost 30 years ago, but in the last year we have seen an incredible growth in engagement from new partners - many of whom are doing the work to ensure the people in their communities and institutions are also prepared.

Earlier this year we heard from the Street Vendor Project ([link removed]) in New York City, whose members were working to prepare for the imminent escalation of ICE presence on the streets of NYC. IDP was grateful to connect with SVP and we collaborated on materials built for their members, which you can check out here ([link removed]) ! The Project’s Deputy Director, Carina Kaufman-Gutierrez, wrote:

Thank you for the incredible work you do. IDP is an invaluable partner in educating frontline New Yorkers like street vendors and supporting us in developing industry-specific educational materials. We’ve been grateful to build a stronger Know Your Rights network together.

We hope for our resources to be nimble and responsive to the questions that are arising every day, and we are grateful to everyone who is taking part in sharing and adapting these resources in New York and beyond.

With your support, we will continue to grow this work in 2026.

Thank you,

Antonia House
