Updates about our upcoming chapter convention and leadership election

Greetings Comrades!

As you may be aware, before the pandemic Sacramento DSA was preparing for it’s first ever local chapter convention! This is an important milestone in our growth.

Since the pandemic began, Sacramento DSA leadership and our Local Convention Planning Working Group, in accordance with our bylaws, have been working to make the convention still happen. To assure our members safety our convention will be conducted online. We know this is not ideal but it is necessary. Sacramento DSA also wants to assure members that the convention will not just be one long zoom meeting full of debates, we are working actively to incorporate social and personable events into our convention. We want this to be efficient, but we also want this to be fun!

The local convention working group will also plan the convention in conjunction with our chapter leadership elections, both the convention and leadership election will take place on September 20th, 2020. The nomination form will go live this Saturday July 18th. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone in the chapter for a position on the executive board, please do so, we always want our elections to be competitive.

We would also like to take this moment to remind membership that the window for submitting resolutions and bylaw amendments to be voted on at the convention is open until MONDAY JULY 20th at 11:59pm.

Below is a timeline of important deadlines leading up to the convention, as well submission links for resolutions and bylaw amendments.

Thank you for your time. We look forward to your participation in our first chapter convention ever!

In Solidarity,

SacDSA
