Email from Tarrant County   We have so much to be grateful for in Tarrant County. Not only do we get to live in the best state in the nation, but we also get to live in the best county in our state. 250th Marine Corps Birthday & Veterans Day Earlier this month, I had the great honor of presenting a resolution from the Tarrant County Commissioners Court honoring the 250th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps. At the ceremony, we heard from 100-year-old Iwo Jima veteran Corporal Don Graves, who led us in a beautiful rendition of God Bless America. It was a celebration full of patriotism and gratitude. On November 11th, we honored Veterans Day by presenting the Tarrant County Veterans Services Office (TCVSO) with a resolution. We all live free because of the bravery of everyone who has been willing to step into a uniform and protect our freedoms. It was a privilege to honor our Veterans. Corporal Don Graves Thomas Belton, TCVSO Director Adoption Day On November 21st, Tarrant County Adoption Day, 38 children were adopted by 22 different families here in Tarrant County. The bond between parent and child is sacred, and these kids now get to spend their lives experiencing that loving bond with their forever families. Happy Thanksgiving In 1863, Abraham Lincoln designated the last Thursday of November as a day the blessings of America should be "solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People." I pray for a wonderful day of family, faith, and of course, some football for you and your family.
