While federal investments in clean energy get decimated, state leaders need our help. They’re facing significant challenges with rising energy costs, wrongly blamed on clean energy and environmental policies. To prevent the buildout of more dangerous and outdated fossil fuel infrastructure, decision makers like Governors-to-be Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger—both of whom ran on clean energy as solutions to the affordability crisis—will need the policy support to execute on those promises.

And this is what Evergreen does best.

Together with your support, we’ll:

Provide targeted state lawmakers and governors with cutting-edge policy guidance to adopt laws that lower gas and electric bills.

Launch strategic accountability campaigns to reform the power grid and unlock clean energy in the PJM interconnection region—the nation’s largest power market—helping states modernize outdated rules and bring thousands of clean energy projects online.

Defend and advocate for strong state clean energy laws and siting reforms, giving rural communities in Michigan and elsewhere a voice in clean energy’s future.

Cut pollution from transportation and buildings, driving policies that create jobs, improve public transit, advance electrification, and make homes more affordable and efficient.

We are ready to push forward, go on offense, and help states continue to lead on climate in the face of federal inaction. But fossil fuel companies and many generators, grid operators, and utilities will be fighting to take us backward—and with the support of Republican allies, those forces are only growing stronger.
