Our members recently helped Tran Thi Nga

Tran Thi Nga

Tran Thi is a Vietnamese environmental activist. She was sentenced to nine years in prison for criticising her government’s handling of a toxic waste spill. But Amnesty International members said NO to her unjust imprisonment and campaigned for her freedom. Earlier this year, she was reunited with her young sons.
“I thank Amnesty International for your tireless effort in demanding for my freedom.”

But many more people still need your help

Monireh and Yasaman

Monireh and Yasaman are a mother and daughter, both imprisoned in Iran. They are serving nine year sentences for peacefully protesting Iran’s laws which force women to wear the veil. During their trial, they had no access to lawyers and were reportedly verbally abused and threatened by the judge. Say NO to sexist laws and unfair trials - join Amnesty International UK today.

Magai

Magai Matiop Ngong was just 15 when he was sentenced to death in South Sudan. Now 18, he remains on death row. But he has filed an appeal, so there is still hope his death sentence could be dropped. Say NO to the cruelest, most inhumane punishment of all. You could still help save Magai’s life - join Amnesty International UK today.
