*Upcoming Fee Updates*
The Board of Island County Commissioners recently approved an updated fee schedule for both Land Use and Building Permits (Resolution C-54-25), as well as the building valuation table which is used to calculate building permit fees. Please note:
* Permits submitted and deemed complete before January 15, 2026, will be subject to the 2025 fee schedule.
* Permits submitted but incomplete as of January 15, 2026, will be subject to the 2026 fee schedule.
* Permits submitted after January 15, 2026, will be subject to the 2026 fee schedule.
*Permit Counter By Appointment Only - Dec. 22 through Jan. 2 *
From Monday, December 22, 2025 through Friday, January 2, 2026 the permit counter for the Planning & Community Development Department [ [link removed] ] will be closed during regular business hours. Staff will be working during this time and will be available by appointment.

Many permits can be submitted online through our portal [ [link removed] ], this service will remain available during the counter closure dates above. Planning & Community Development staff will be available by phone and email from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm as well.
