The Senate just voted to undo safeguards for wildlife and communities impacted
by drilling in the Western Arctic. Fight back by renewing your LCV membership for just $5 to help us defend against this latest attack on public lands >> [link removed] DEVELOPING… the Senate has voted 52-45 to overturn protections across millions
of acres of lands in the Western Arctic, endangering some of the most
ecologically significant wilderness on the planet. We cannot allow Big Oil to continue to bulldoze and drill in the Arctic.  The move comes on the heels of a corrupt deal that rubber stamps approvals for a
project called the Ambler Road Project, which would pave the way for
construction of a  200-mile road through some of Alaska’s most wild and pristine
places for some speculative mining projects. That deal was only approved after
the Trump administration claimed a 10% stake in the Canadian mining company
behind it. The move comes on the heels of a corrupt deal that rubber stamps approvals for a

build public pressure in Congress, and pushing back against these and other
attempts to plunder our lands and waters on behalf of the fossil fuel industry. We need your help to keep this work going: The best thing you can do right now to defend against Trump’s attacks on our lands is to renew your LCV membership for just $5. You’ll make an immediate impact to help us oppose/stop drilling in the Arctic and keep public lands in public hands >> [link removed] RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP FOR JUST $5 >> [link removed] Your renewed membership urgent support will help us to: Mobilize activists around the country and organize with our 30 state affiliates to protect public lands, advance clean energy, and defend voting rights.Hold lawmakers accountable for prioritizing corporations over people — and make sure constituents know how their representatives are voting.Defend the Arctic and all public lands in the halls of Congress and beyond. I hope you’ll pitch in today, because this vote demands a response. Republicans are shutting out public input and discarding scientific expertise. The Arctic’s wetlands, tundra, river deltas, and coastal plain are vital not only to our climate’s future, but to an entire way of life. The land is home
to wildlife like the Western Arctic Caribou Herd — essential to the survival and
cultural heritage of 40 subsistence-based communities in the region.  This is greed and exploitation at its absolute worst, Friend. The truth is, this will be a hard fight — but we cannot and must not stop
working to protect these lands. Please, don’t wait — the Arctic needs your support, Friend. Renew your membership today for only $5 to protect the Arctic and push back against attempts to sell off our shared public lands >> [link removed] America Fitzpatrick
