John, I wanted to make sure you heard it from me after this
news broke.

Eight Senate Democrats just voted to advance a funding deal that would
reopen the federal government and fully fund SNAP for the rest of the
year, but let Affordable Care Act subsidies expire.

Let me be clear about what this means. It’s exactly what Republicans
wanted all along. And if these subsidies aren’t renewed, health insurance
premiums will skyrocket for millions of working families who are already
stretched thin.

After the longest shutdown in our country’s history, folks are still not
getting the relief they need. Families can’t wait. They can’t afford
another hike in their health care bills, and they shouldn’t have to.

I’m frustrated and disappointed. Democrats cannot let the Trump
Administration steamroll Congress into cutting taxes for billionaires at
the expense of working people. That’s not how we do things in Minnesota,
and it’s not how we should do things anywhere.

[ [link removed] ]I’m going to do everything in my power to continue standing up to this
cruel administration while lowering the costs of living for Minnesotans,
but I can’t do it without you. Make a grassroots contribution today to
fuel our ongoing fight.
