We just passed the one-year-out mark for the Iowa governor’s race, so now
is a good time to gut-check our campaign strategy for the coming months.
While there’s a lot we need to do between now and Election Day to pull off
a big upset in a tough state like Iowa, our game plan really boils down to
three things:
1) Talk to everyone, everywhere, all the time.
2) Focus on the issues important to everyday Iowans.
3) Continue growing this grassroots team.
In a second, I’ll explain a bit more about what each of those action items
looks like. [ [link removed] ]But if you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to read the
whole thing, please consider pitching in $25 to help us execute our plan
and elect Rob as Iowa’s next governor!

Talk to everyone, everywhere, all the time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This might sound simple, but it’s actually incredibly challenging.
Folks absorb news differently — from different sources, at different
points in a campaign, you name it. That means we need to be creative and
flexible with how we reach people.
It’s not enough to just run ads, because not everyone watches TV. Some
folks don’t regularly use email or social media, so they might not see
Rob’s videos. Not everyone answers the door when we’re canvassing, or the
phone when we’re calling.
There are folks who might not have even heard much of anything about the
election yet.
That means we need to do all of these things (and more) to reach as many
people as possible to tell them about this race, and why Rob is the best
candidate to lead Iowa forward.
Focus on the issues important to everyday Iowans.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a decade of partisan rule, Iowa has little to show for it, ranking
49th in economic growth as jobs, opportunities, and people leave our
state.
Iowans are worried about the economy, public education system, and the
rising costs of accessing health care.
While Iowans struggle, partisan insiders and special interests wage
culture wars and turn communities against each other to deflect blame.
But Rob’s got a track record of taking on partisan insiders and bad
actors, and he’s got a plan to bolster our economy and restore Iowans’
faith in public servants.
By making this campaign about the issues that matter most to Iowan
families, we can have tough conversations and bridge divides,
strengthening our communities and our state’s future.
Continue growing this grassroots team.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simply put, no matter how hard he tries, Rob can’t be everywhere at once.
We need to bring folks into our tent, and build the biggest, most vibrant
coalition the Hawkeye State has ever seen.
Rob’s Iowa-first message is resonating with voters across the political
spectrum — and do you know who the best messenger is for bringing new
supporters into the fold?
It’s you, John,
and other grassroots supporters like you.
[ [link removed] ]We know what we need to do to win, but that doesn’t mean it will be
easy. Can Rob count on you to have his back every step of the way between
now and Election Day? If so, please consider pitching in a grassroots
donation today!
