Homecoming should be safe.
On Saturday night, students and alumni of Lincoln University in Chester County gathered after the football game to celebrate homecoming. It’s a familiar fall scene in Pennsylvania, where homecoming weekends are usually marked by laughter, joy, and community.
Then, around 9 PM, the shooting started.
One person, 25-year-old J’Wan Jeffers, was killed. Six other people were shot and will carry the trauma of surviving a mass shooting for the rest of their lives.
A homecoming celebration was wrecked by gunshots in our own backyard, and it has barely broken through in the news.
Every mass shooting is a tragedy. We need more volunteers to step up and make sure these stories get the attention and ACTION they deserve. [[link removed]]

Whether you’re a returning volunteer or new to the movement, volunteering is one of the best ways we know of to use your outrage and grief. We need volunteers who can:
* Organize vigils to remember those lost to this crisis.
* Send a letter to your local newspaper or TV news station to ask why the incident at Lincoln didn’t get the coverage other mass shootings in Michigan and Minnesota did.
* Call your neighbors to tell them homecomings should be joyous and safe, not filled with gunfire.
Fill out the form, and a member of our organizing team will be in touch.
Right now, we know that one suspect has been taken into custody. All of the victims are young people between the ages of 20 and 25. They — like all of us — deserve freedom from gun violence.
We envision a future where our schools and neighborhoods are safe. We should be able to celebrate, watch a football game, and gather without fear. Friend, if you share our vision, please join us as a volunteer today. [[link removed]]
We will never stop working to end the epidemic of gun violence.
