Hey, it’s Laura Carlson, Chief Digital Officer at the DGA with a more personal message than usual for you today. Team, if you already know what I’m about to say, will you stand with me and thousands of Americans against Donald Trump’s destruction of the White House?

This photo of me you see above was taken last year in the East Wing during a holiday tour. I’m one of the millions of Americans who has had the honor of visiting the White House and admiring its rich history.

The East Wing was a symbol that our democracy belongs to everyone. This is what it looks like now:

For more than two centuries, this wing of the White House has been known as “The People’s House” – hosting millions of visitors just like me, people who want to admire a living piece of American history and democracy. But just as he destroys our democracy and calls himself a “king,” Donald Trump has destroyed the East Wing to build a $300 million ballroom – all during a government shutdown while hundreds of thousands are furloughed without pay, or will soon go hungry without access to SNAP.

So now, I’m asking you personally:
