Dear John,

Today, violence against women is mutating in dangerous new ways.

The same technology that connects us is being weaponized to humiliate, exploit, and silence women. Deepfake pornography, online stalking, and coordinated harassment campaigns are creating new frontlines in the battle for women’s safety. These attacks don’t stop at the screen—they destroy reputations, careers, and lives.

NOW is fighting back, raising awareness about the dangers of digital violence and pushing for more protections to keep women and girls safe online.

John, will you help fuel this fight by making a gift of $25, $50, or more to NOW today?

With help from generous supporters, NOW earned a significant victory when our grassroots teams mobilized to back the Take It Down Act, which was signed into law earlier this year. The act addresses one of the most malicious threats to women’s safety—the theft of our bodily autonomy through deepfake images used to harass and exploit women and girls.
However, the law only applies to public-facing platforms like social media networks, leaving the numerous hidden private forums where victims may never know their images appear unexamined.

That’s why we’re not stopping here.

NOW is pushing for passage of the Preventing Deepfakes of Intimate Images Act, which makes sharing these images a criminal offense and creates a right of private action that allows victims to take their abusers to court and make them pay for the harm they’ve caused.

We can’t do this work alone, which is why we are activating NOW’s trusted grassroots network—a proven force for change that no one else can match. John, I know we can count on you to stand with us on the frontlines.

When it comes to protecting women and girls from digital abuse, our work is just beginning. Together, let’s not quit until every space—online and offline—is safe. Please make as generous a gift as you can to NOW to help support this critical work.
