Hi John,
I’ve knocked on thousands of doors in the last few months, and talked with so many of our lovely neighbors, and one of the biggest concerns I hear is about the cost of living. Inflation is squeezing budgets, tariffs are raising the price of everything, childcare is out of reach, and wages just can’t keep up.
It’s clear that what passes as “economic growth” in this country hasn’t touched most people’s lives.
We don’t need more trickle-down schemes that shower benefits on the already wealthy. What we need is an economy built for people who work, dream, and struggle just to make ends meet.
Here’s how I propose we get there:
* Raise wages so full-time work can support a family. No one working 40 hours a week should live in poverty.
* Crack down on wage theft and enforce labor protections. Workers should never fear retaliation for demanding fairness.
* Reform taxes so the burden is shared more equitably. It’s not fair for everyday families to carry the load while the richest pay less.
* Invest in people and communities. Quality schools, childcare, and skills training shouldn’t be privileges—they should be pathways.
* Hold corporations accountable. No more undue influence, no more bailouts, and no more cozy deals at the expense of your pocketbook.
When we win this race, I will work in Richmond every day to make these bold changes real. But to get there, we need your help now: because winning means not just having good values, but having the power to implement them.
If you believe we deserve an economy that works for everyone—not just the wealthy—please consider supporting us. [[link removed]] Your contribution helps us make this fight louder and stronger.

Thank you for believing in a fairer Virginia. The future we fight for is one where hard work is rewarded, not punished.
With determination,
Leslie
