Dear John,

We just got the news about the most recent honeybee count, and the situation is
dire. Wild and managed bees are dying at an almost unthinkable rate. Now, our
nation’s beekeepers are reporting the highest summer loss rate ever recorded:
Between April and October last year, a staggering 32% of colonies were lost. We have to act fast to save the bees.

It’s not just bee populations that are being decimated. 40% of all wild
invertebrate pollinators are on the brink of extinction. If we lose our
pollinators it could mean ecological collapse on a scale we’ve never seen
before.

We can’t let it come to that.

Can you rush a $10 donation right now to Friends of the Earth to protect our
pollinators and our planet?

[[link removed]]None of this is happening by accident. Big Agriculture and the fossil fuel
industry are knowingly fueling this mass extinction by driving rampant pesticide
application, habitat loss, and climate devastation. The Trump administration is
adding fuel to the fire, working hand-in-hand with these industries to dismantle
environmental regulations while finding new ways to line the pockets of the
corporations responsible. To add insult to injury, this administration is now
using the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to roll back even more protections,
greenlight more destructive projects, and increase payouts to the
mega-corporations fueling these crises.

We know what they’re doing, and we know how to stop it.

Thanks to members like you, Friends of the Earth has been campaigning and
winning on fights like these for decades. We were made for this moment. Here are
some of the powerful things we’ve done together over the past four years:

* We’ve successfully pushed the garden industry to transition away from
bee-toxic pesticides.
* We’ve secured legislative and corporate wins on pesticides like chlorpyrifos,
which can kill pollinators and cause permanent brain damage in children. For
example, our efforts have led to state-wide bans of the chemical, which
helped convince Dow Chemical to stop selling it.
* Our team is also driving legislation like the Saving America’s Pollinators
Act and other bills that will would help save other threatened pollinators
like monarch butterflies and help rapidly shift our food system toward people
and pollinator friendly ecological agriculture.

Pollinators need your help before it’s too late. Donate $10 to Friends of the
Earth today.

[[link removed]]We can’t win these fights alone -- and we don’t have to. Friends of the Earth
members like you have been instrumental in our many victories -- making calls,
submitting comments, and taking bold action with us. Time after time, we’ve seen
that when we fight together, we win.

Friends of the Earth is at the forefront of a strategic, multi-pronged effort to
shift away from toxic pesticides, transform our food system and safeguard
people, pollinators and our planet. We’ve helped lead the charge, and we have a
roadmap to pass pivotal new legislation and key protections in 2020 and beyond.

This is a watershed moment in the fight to save our pollinators. If we don’t win
these fights before key tipping points are reached, our ecosystems and food
systems may never recover. It is our duty to act before it’s too late -- and we
can only do it together.

Please help us fight back against Trump and Big Ag, and win game-changing
protections for bees and pollinators. Make a $10 contribution to Friends of the
Earth today.
