Regarding recent special elections…

Last month, Democrats won another special election in Arizona to further
reduce our House GOP Majority.


This was always a blue district, so I’m not concerned by the victory itself.
What concerns me is themargin by which the Democrat won.


While Kamala Harris won this district by 22 points last fall, preliminary data
shows the Democrat carried it in the special election by nearly 40 points!


That means the Democrats almost DOUBLED their margin of victory!


The silver lining? It’s not because the Democrats are gaining any support.
Instead, GOP voters simply aren’t showing up to vote the same way they did last
November.


Unfortunately, what happened in Arizona isn’t an outlier, John.


The Cook Political Report reported on this same disturbing trend earlier this
year:


“Republicans just can’t count on Trump’s more peripherally-engaged voters to
show up when Trump isn’t on the ballot.

...across two House special elections... Democrats have been averaging 63% of
Harris’s 2024 vote totals while Republicans have been averaging just 45% of
Trump’s.

If that pattern were extrapolated across all 435 districts next fall,
Democrats would win a whopping 279 seats — 61 more than they need for a
majority.”


As House GOP Leadership Chair, one of top priorities is ensuring that we have
a fully verified voter file before the midterm elections.


And at this point, I’m not looking to verify just any Republican voter…


…What’s important is verifying the ones who we can count on to show up in the
midterms and vote to SAVE President Trump’s razor-thin House Majority.
