Friend, While the government may have shut down, our determination to advocate for our
democracy has not. Here are two actions you can take THIS WEEK to actively
resist Trump and his authoritarian agenda.  Right now, you can: Submit a quick public comment to the Election Assistance Commission to advocate against a rule change that would restrict millions of Americans from accessing votingSign up to be part of an event that has the potential to be the largest mass mobilization in American history. On July 16, 2025, the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) — the federal agency
that helps election officials improve the administration of elections — received
a petition from a far-right organization asking the Commission to unnecessarily require proof of citizenship to register to vote. [link removed] This request could block more than 21 million eligible voters from registering [link removed] and make it harder to register for millions more. So far, over 200,000 comments have been submitted to the EAC about this
dangerous proposal, with too many being in support. We need to counteract this with as many pro-voter comments as possible by the
October 20 deadline. It only takes two minutes. Go to this website [link removed] and use this customizable template [link removed] to make your voice heard today. Tell the EAC to keep our elections free and fair [link removed] Then, after you submit your comment to the EAC, make plans for your weekend by
joining millions of others for No Kings October. On Saturday, October 18 join
this peaceful movement of millions of Americans from all walks of life rising up
to make it clear: We don’t do dictators or kings in America. We never will. Sign up for a No Kings October event near you [link removed] To get involved, go to the No Kings website to find an event in your area.
You’ll also find other helpful resources like virtual safety trainings [link removed] and messaging toolkits to inform others in your community on social media. We
can’t hold Trump accountable if we’re not united. Thank you for supporting us on
October 18 and beyond, because this isn’t a moment, it’s a movement! In solidarity, Justin Kwasa
